Many studies show that infertility is a rising worldwide epidemic. But there’s good scientific news too. Many studies show the epidemic can be treated naturally with nutrition.
Researchers in the UK studied 56 “subfertile” women who were undergoing ovulation induction using standard medical treatments. The women who added “multiple micronutrient supplementation” to their regimen had more than double the pregnancy rate of women who didn’t — 60% compared to 25%. On average, the women on supplements also got pregnant faster, requiring fewer induction attempts.
“The beneficial effects of multiple micronutrient supplements may have been meditated not only through the presence of multiple vitamins and minerals but through antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, N-acetylcysteine, insulin sensitization with inositol and improvement of blood flow in the pelvic organs with the presence of l-arginine,” wrote the researchers.
“Multiple micronutrient supplementation is a cost-effective remedy that is well tolerated with no adverse effects.”
